Republican Criticism
Republican National Committee Chairman Joe Gruters doubts Talarico’s ability to form a Republican coalition, labeling his efforts as unrealistic. Gruters pointed to interviews on MS NOW’s “Morning Joe,” which featured women identified as Republican supporters but connected to Democratic and anti-Trump activities.
“The people presented as on his team have long supported Democratic candidates,” Gruters stated. He emphasized the non-bipartisan aspect of Talarico’s campaign.
Talarico’s Coalition Building
Talarico’s campaign is focused on reaching everyone in Texas ahead of the November election. Despite the outreach, Republicans argue it attracts voters who previously broke from GOP nominees. Former Tarrant County Judge Glen Whitley, a Republican, endorsed Talarico, although his recent endorsements lean Democratic.
Republican Unity
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is rallying GOP support as the party prepares for the Senate race. Paxton received endorsements from former state House impeachment managers, emphasizing his strong Republican backing.
Gruters believes Paxton represents the strength needed for Texas in the U.S. Senate, saying Paxton will bring “MAGA warriors” to support the president’s agenda.

Despite Democrat attempts to flip seats with significant funding, Texas remains firmly Republican, according to Gruters.
Predictions
Gruters predicts North Carolina, not Texas, will be the focus of significant campaign spending. He asserts that Texas will stay Republican, as voters resist policies they consider too liberal.
“Paxton is going to win this race,” Gruters concluded.
