The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) reported that its F-16 fighter jets intercepted multiple general aviation aircraft over Bedminster, New Jersey, on Sunday. The incident occurred after the planes reportedly breached temporary flight restrictions in the area.
According to the 1st Air Force’s Air Forces Northern, two aircraft were involved in this violation. NORAD officials stated that the general aviation aircraft were safely escorted out of the restricted zone by their aircraft.
The restrictions were related to the presence of President Trump, who was expected to visit his golf club in the Bedminster area. Temporary flight restrictions are commonly implemented to ensure safety around such high-profile visits.
