Tristan Peters joined a distinguished group of Chicago White Sox players who have homered in four consecutive games. This list includes notable names such as Paul Konerko, Jim Thome, Harold Baines, and current teammate Colson Montgomery. Peters achieved this feat on Tuesday against the Texas Rangers, hitting a home run in the sixth inning to contribute to the 11-7 victory at Rate Field.
As of Wednesday’s series finale, Peters was just one home run shy of tying the franchise record of five consecutive games with a home run, a record shared by players like Munetaka Murakami and A.J. Pierzynski.
Sox starter Anthony Kay praised Peters’ performance, emphasizing how Peters’ energetic play deep in the lineup creates challenges for opposing teams. Peters recently celebrated another significant moment when he hit a walk-off home run against the New York Mets, securing a 2-1 victory. According to Elias Sports Bureau, Peters and Murakami are the only pair of rookies in White Sox history to achieve a home run streak of four games or more in the same season.
At 26 years old, Peters began this remarkable run with a memorable home run against the Mets, where Carson Benge, a Mets outfielder, couldn’t maintain control of the ball which went over the wall. Peters reflected on the incident, expressing his surprise and excitement at how the play evolved.
The next day, Peters ensured another victory for the Sox with a ninth-inning home run. He continued providing offense for the team, even in an 11-2 loss against the Rangers, with a two-run homer in the second inning. His performance on Tuesday included a home run as part of a three-hit game, nearly completing the cycle again this season.
Previously, Peters hit for the cycle against the Athletics on July 10 at Rate Field, an achievement celebrated by Chairman Jerry Reinsdorf with a custom ring. As of Wednesday, Peters was tied for sixth on the team with 11 home runs, impressing teammates like Miguel Vargas and contributing significantly since joining the team.
Peters, often batting seventh or eighth in the lineup, is delivering remarkable performances. He is currently slashing .367/.466/.776 over his last 18 games since August 6. His contributions have not gone unnoticed by manager Will Venable, who acknowledged Peters’ ability to adapt and succeed at the plate.
