President Donald Trump will make a surprise announcement from the Oval Office at 2 p.m. Eastern Time on Monday. The event is open to the White House press pool, according to the president’s schedule.
During a Sunday exchange with a reporter, Trump suggested the announcement might be linked to an upcoming meeting with Dario Amodei, the co-founder of AI company Anthropic. Trump stated, “We’re meeting with Anthropic as you know on Tuesday; that’s going to be substantial. And we have some unrelated matters tonight. I’m having dinner with the head of Anthropic, so these days are long, but manageable… Yes, I’m dining with Dario, as you know, who is highly respected from Anthropic.”
