Vice President JD Vance criticized Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed on “The Ingraham Angle,” calling him a “limousine socialist.” Vance argued that El-Sayed’s policies, backed by far-left figures like Sen. Bernie Sanders and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, threaten Michigan’s working-class autoworkers through wealth redistribution and open-border immigration.
El-Sayed, who won the Democratic primary for Michigan’s U.S. Senate seat, will compete against Republican Mike Rogers in the general election. Vance highlighted that the Democratic Party’s base favors candidates with radical agendas, which he claims includes undermining private property and not supporting the Michigan auto industry.
Vance accused El-Sayed of harming the working class by advocating for low-wage immigrant labor and opposing tariffs that have supported Michigan’s auto industry. These tariffs, according to Vance, were introduced by Trump and have been beneficial for local industry.
El-Sayed’s campaign platform emphasizes progressive policies like “Medicare-for-All” and reforming campaign finance, diverging from the industrial focus of his primary opponent, Rep. Haley Stevens. Vance argued that prosperity requires a strong economic foundation and is critical of mere redistribution, referencing European and U.S. examples.
Vance noted that, under current presidential leadership, the U.S. has pursued policies aimed at sustaining economic growth, believed to yield future benefits. The Fox News Digital team reached out to El-Sayed for comment but received no immediate response.
