The Washington Mystics faced a tough challenge in their first-round playoff game, suffering a 92-77 loss after accumulating 22 turnovers, equaling their season-high record.
Star player Rhyne Howard from the Dream stole the spotlight with a game-high score of 26 points. She skillfully maintained pressure on the Mystics, including Michaela Onyenwere, who scored eight points.
Before the playoffs, the Mystics shared the best WNBA record post-all-star break. They also set a new league record for rebounds in a season. Additionally, they became the youngest team in WNBA history to reach the playoffs.
Despite these achievements, a significant weakness was exposed. The team’s inability to manage turnovers became a key issue in their playoff opener, highlighting an area for improvement.
