Wyoming residents are heading to the polls to decide on their Republican and Democratic candidates for governor. With current Governor Mark Gordon unable to seek another term, the race for the open seat has drawn significant interest.
Megan Degenfelder, the Wyoming Superintendent of Public Instruction, is a candidate with the endorsement of President Trump. Although the former President’s endorsements have had varied results this primary season, they remain a sought-after backing among Republican contenders.
Retired U.S. Marine Colonel Brent Bien, who previously finished second to Gordon in the 2022 GOP primary, is running again. This time, he is not up against an incumbent and has secured support from the state GOP.
Other Republican candidates include State Senator Eric Barlow and rodeo-production professional Curt Blake.
In the Democratic primary, Ken Casner, who was the party’s candidate in the last two gubernatorial races, stands uncontested. He is thus expected to be the Democratic nominee.
The polls are scheduled to close at 9 p.m. EDT, marking the end of this crucial decision-making process for Wyoming voters.
