They review threats directed at individuals they protect. “The Secret Service is aware of the video and investigates anything that can be perceived as a threat toward our protectees,” Nate Herring, a lead public affairs specialist, stated.

This statement followed reports of a video distributed by an Iranian state-linked media outlet targeting the first lady. Such rhetoric is a recent example of the tensions involving President Donald Trump and his family amid ongoing conflicts between Washington and Tehran.

“Out of concern for operational security, we do not discuss matters of protective intelligence,” Herring added.
