Barry Manilow Reschedules Kentucky Show Due to Unforeseen Circumstances

Barry Manilow, the renowned singer, rescheduled his Kentucky concert unexpectedly on Tuesday, just 45 minutes before it was set to begin. The postponement was attributed to ‘unforeseen circumstances,’ as announced by Manilow on X before the show was expected to start. The singer, who was diagnosed with lung cancer last year, did not provide additional details regarding the sudden change.

Reactions to the late rescheduling were mixed, with some fans disappointed, expressing views of disrespect. However, others extended encouraging messages to the artist. Supporters posted heartfelt comments on X, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing health.

‘Sending hugs x take care and remember you must come first,’ one user expressed.

‘I’m so sorry you’ve had to reschedule tonight’s show,’ another added. ‘Please look after yourself Barry, sending much love and healing energy from across the pond.’

Barry Manilow revealed his early-stage lung cancer diagnosis in December after doctors discovered a cancerous spot on his left lung, following bouts of bronchitis.

Manilow shared via Instagram, ‘As many of you know I recently went through six weeks of bronchitis followed by a relapse of another five weeks. Even though I was over the bronchitis and back on stage in Las Vegas, my wonderful doctor ordered an MRI just to ensure everything was OK. The MRI discovered a cancerous spot on my left lung that needs to be removed.’

He further noted the fortuitous early discovery, thanking his doctor. ‘That’s the good news,’ he stated.

After the Christmas concerts ended, Manilow planned surgery to remove the spot, expressing relief that treatment only involved surgery, avoiding chemo and radiation.

In February, Manilow had to reschedule further February and March tour dates following a ‘very depressing visit’ to his surgeon. The singer shared insights from conversations with his doctor about the readiness of his lungs for a full show, acknowledging his health condition.

Despite setbacks, Manilow’s determination to return to performing remained strong. He announced progress in his recovery in May, although he had to cancel Las Vegas residency dates. The artist expressed optimism regarding his UK’s June arena shows, signaling improvement.

Manilow wrote on X, ‘Good news! I went to the doctor yesterday and he said I’m making great progress and look great! Well of course I do! Thank you very much!’ Despite needing more time before returning to Las Vegas, he assured fans of his readiness for upcoming performances in the UK.

Barry Manilow remains focused on his recovery while continuing to connect with fans, eagerly anticipating his return to the stage.
