Chiefs General Manager Brett Veach emphasized that Bieniemy stays engaged with the team, though family remains his top priority. The team arranged a live feed of practices for Bieniemy, allowing him to analyze drills remotely, as reported by The Athletic.
Elijah Bieniemy was granted a mental health competency evaluation, required before his court hearing. He was charged following the shooting of his mother. Veach mentioned that Bieniemy stayed involved by contacting head coach Andy Reid during practices, underscoring his commitment to detail.
“He demands each player knows his assignment,” Veach stated. Bieniemy returned to help energize the roster after last season’s disappointing 6-11 record. Known for winning two Super Bowls with the franchise, his expertise is seen as crucial in reviving the team.
