About 213,500 “Goody King” magnetic construction toys have been recalled in the United States. This recall is due to ingestion risks that led at least two children to require surgeries. According to a notice from the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), these toys’ construction cubes can break or open, releasing internal magnets. This presents a significant ingestion risk for children.
The commission warns that if high-powered magnets are ingested, they can attract each other or other metals, potentially becoming trapped in the digestive system. This can lead to perforations, twisting, or blockage of the intestines, sepsis, and even death.
As of now, the seller of Goody King, Yi Suen Commerce, is aware of two cases where children ingested magnets from these toys and required surgery to remove them. The Hong Kong-based company has also received at least 27 reports of cubes breaking or opening. Consumers who have these magnetic toys should stop using them immediately and contact Yi Suen Commerce for a full refund. The affected model numbers and more information are available in the CPSC notice and on the Goody King recalls website.
Goody King has stated in an online FAQ section that it will send prepaid shipping labels to customers who register for the recall. Refunds will be issued once the products are physically returned to the company. Receipts are not required.
The CPSC noted that the recalled toys were sold online through Amazon between January 2024 and July 2026. They were available under a variety of themes for creating 3D designs like forests, dinosaurs, and unicorns. The products were sold in sets of 45, 56, 100, 120, 150, and 300 pieces, with prices ranging from $17 to $50.
