Hasan Piker, a well-known far-left streamer, issued a stark warning on Tuesday night in response to Wisconsin state Rep. Francesca Hong’s defeat in the Democratic gubernatorial primary. Hong lost to Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley.
During his livestream, Piker expressed concern that the Democratic establishment would intensify efforts to block progressive candidates. He emphasized that the establishment would not underestimate the progressive movement in the future and stated, “So, the knives will be out.” Piker had previously appeared at a campaign rally alongside Hong and Rep. Ilhan Omar, portraying the loss as a cautionary moment for socialists.
In a statement to Fox News Digital, RNC national spokesperson Natalie Baldassarre called on Democrats to distance themselves from Piker, describing him as a radical figure with controversial past remarks.
The primary in Wisconsin highlighted the divide between the party’s socialist left and its traditional base. Hong, a member of the Democratic Socialists of America, had substantial support from prominent progressive figures and organizations.
Crowley, who initially withdrew from the race, re-entered with endorsements from the retiring Gov. Tony Evers and several notable labor and political groups. His victory was seen as a consolidation of establishment support.
Despite previous associations, Hong sought to distance herself from Piker, clarifying in an interview that appearing on his platform did not equate to endorsing all his views.
Piker viewed Crowley’s win as a generally positive outcome and predicted that Crowley would eventually defeat Republican Rep. Tom Tiffany in the upcoming election.
Meanwhile, controversy surrounded the Milwaukee election process as officials reported delayed vote counts due to human error.
While Fox News Digital reached out to Hong, Crowley, and the DNC for comments, there was no immediate response.
