Kellan Lutz recently shared insights into his family’s decision to leave California for Tennessee. This move occurred three years ago during the pandemic. Lutz revealed these details on Michael Rosenbaum’s podcast “Inside of You.”
“I love California, I really do,” Lutz stated. The main reason for their move was the arrival of their second child. They left Orange County, though Lutz’s wife, Brittany, hopes to return someday or at least be “bi-ish coastal.”
Brittany Lutz was born in Orange County. She cherished her family and community there. However, post-pandemic, many left California in search of a quieter setting due to job losses and other challenges. Her relatives also moved to Tennessee.
“We got some land, got great Bible studies that we’re a part of, great churches, great community,” Lutz added. He emphasized the importance of a supportive environment, especially when he is away for work and Brittany needs help with their kids.
Many friends told Lutz that new moms often prefer living close to their own mothers for support. This idea resonated with him. The family decided to commit to life in Tennessee, specifically Franklin.
“There’s a lot of great things about Tennessee,” Lutz acknowledged. He noted frequent movie premieres and a vibrant actor community in Franklin. Despite enjoying these positives, he admitted to missing chain restaurants and adjusting to local climate challenges like tornadoes.
Lutz concluded by saying they are unsure of how long they will remain in Tennessee.
