Grand Canyon rafting guide Kelsey Pfendler made history with a solo row across the Pacific Ocean. She reached Hawaii after rowing more than 2,400 miles from California in under 44 days. This notable feat drew a crowd of supporters at Honolulu Harbor.

Pfendler’s journey set multiple records. According to her, she aimed to be the first American woman, the youngest woman, and the fastest woman to achieve this mid-Pacific row. Records from the Ocean Rowing Society International confirm she surpassed previous women’s and men’s records for speed on this route.
