A Disappointing Turn for Aiyuk
Brandon Aiyuk, who signed with the San Francisco 49ers in 2024 but missed the 2025 season due to injury, was not selected. The Commanders’ decision may reflect concerns about Aiyuk’s recent conduct. Reports describe Aiyuk’s behavior, including recording himself driving at high speeds near the 49ers’ training facility, posting related videos after being issued an arrest warrant, throwing cash to mock the team, and making offhand comments about coach Kyle Shanahan’s accident, as off-putting. Although Aiyuk had shown interest in joining the Commanders, who were initially interested, their interest declined.
